Day 162 – Spontaneous Kerman

Day 162 – Kerman, Iran

The Flat Tires on my Backwheel continued also on the last Day towards Kerman. I cycled 1Km into the Desert to have some quiet rest from the busy big roads while my tire punctured again. Not the best timing, after changing I had one hour of Daylight left and it was still 40 km towards Kerman. Went on and chased the sunset again. Somehow I got into a Flowstate while pushing hard on the pedals, on big roads, light downhill on a straight 25 km into the City. The sun reached the horizon and I am the lighted streets of outer Kerman “good timing”. The big, 5 lines wide City road, were nearly empty on a Friday evening. A car with a group of Jung guys slowly drove beside me. The windows opened with four hands reaching out to offer me Lemonade, Water, Cigarettes and a shot of Vodka. I refused friendly because I felt total drained physical and mental with only the goal of a room for the next 2 or 3 nights to get healthy again. After a chat, the Guys vanished into the Big, Dark and empty road towards the Centre. “What a crazy City”. I thought while pushing the last 5 km.

Took the easy way and checked myself into a nice hotel after I couldn’t find the Guesthouse I was looking for. Everything clean, High standard with surprisingly cheap prices. Good Place to get healthy again. Took a look on the scale and saw I lost 6kg Bodyweight in 4 Days, Cycling 400 Km with diarrhoea. (Is not recommended for a Diet) I needed some Rest. Scrolled through my Instagram Feed and saw Mr. D. and Mr. N., Two fellow travellers from Germany who I met in Yazd, They got lost at the Kerman Bazar this Day. “Wait, I am in Kerman, too” What’s up Guys. Next Day they came back from their Trip to the Desert and checked into the same Hotel. Me feeling better after a night of 12 hours sleep we went out to met some locals and smoke Hookah, got lost at the Bazar again and sneaked up the roof of our Hotel at Sunset. I had no expectations in the first place to experience anything in Kerman, just to get healthy again for the Road but you never know what a City brings up to you.

Mr D. and N. went on to Shiraz and I headed South into the Mountains. But first changed the Inner tube again in front of the Hotel. The back tire was punctured again on my way into Kerman 2 Days ago… The Flat Tire Trend continued?!
