Day 168 – Hunger for Adventure

Day 168 – Rayen, Kerman Province, Iran

Leaving Mahan after a delicious breakfast Zahra made me for the climb today up to 2550 Meter above Sea level. “In the Name of God” is written on a big Green Sign beside the Road with just the Road going uphill in the Background surrounded by Mountains on the Horizon. It makes me think of the further Days ahead. Which way to go? What to see, and to experience?! The Plan is to Cycling South to Bam another 200 Km on that monotone Big Road where I am on for the past 800 KM since Esfahan. I wished a change for my Journey, something purer, more ruff, more adventures. These thoughts circled around in my Mind while Cycling up the Altitude. Reached the Top at 2550 Meter a.SL. surprisingly unspectacular up here beside being a bit closer to the clouds passing by. I sat down to check the Map ones again. 7 KM downhill, the Road divides in straight towards Bam 170 KM and to right downhill towards Rayen 25 KM. From Rayen leads a small road into the Hezar Mountains which I had to cross anyway. The Pick at 2970 Meter seems very Interesting to set a new high mark so far and would bring me into a remoter Area around the Hezar Mountain with his 4500 Meter Summit. Rolled down where the Road splits into the two directions and offering me two different experiences. Changed my wet clothes to some dry one and got ready for the Downhill. Which Way? I chose of course the more adventures one towards Rayen into the Hezar Mountains.

The Landscape was spectacular. My View Reached 25 KM and more in the crystal clear air at 2200 Meter altitude. The Sinking Sun dyed the Mountains in Red light and dark shadows. After One Hour battling against the headwind I reached Rayen which was in full Autumn Mode. The Trees along the Streets showing beautiful earthy colours during sunset. I paused and looked up to the Summit of Hezar Mountain which was covered in Snow and Ice.

In the dark I stopped at a Cafe to figure out where the Guesthouse is what Zahra my Host from Mahan gave me the Number for. After several phonecalls, a handrawed map and a double Espresso with a group of Soldiers I was good to go.
Arrived at the house, nocked on the big wooden door, asked for a room that night. I was the only Guest in the Traditional House with a big yard full of trees where the two beautiful German Shaphers played. I stayed here spontaneously one more night to enjoy more the chilled town in Autumn and working on the Blog a bit. Looking forward for some days mostly cycling, camping and diving into the life on the Street again.
