Day 240 – Salalah, Oman
My favourite place in Salalah, to relax and enjoy the vibe, was the Grand Mosque in the centre. It was so relaxing to lay in the grass during sunset in front of the huge entry door where the people went in for the evening praying.
Need for different Input.
During the past 10 Days in Salalah I didn’t photograph much. Here and there some pics on my daily walk for diner to my favourite Indian restaurant. Actually after almost two months on the road I had a strong desire to stay in one place for longer than just the regular two days for rest. My Mind felt tired of travelling and had the need for new different input then cycling down the road. I wasn’t very productive during my stay in Salalah the majority of time I spend by watching YouTube videos about Philosophy, Business and other random stuff. Do you know that feeling when you obviously are searching for something but you have no clue what? You just noticed the interest in something different. The bottom line is this: I wanted more in life then Cycling from point A to B. Maybe a combination of travel and staying while having something what I can call work. For that moment let’s dig a bit deeper.
Setting New Goals.
To be honest, I felt very down and after achieving the goal of arriving in Salalah I had problems to focus myself towards something new. A well-known feeling, every time I reached a goal on the map I had to figure out a new one and focus myself towards that. This process usually takes 1-2 weeks and mostly I get an idea of my new goal by riding just in one direction and watch myself where I get attracted to.
This time I had some options between my original goal of going back to Iran, Central Asia and China or change plans by taking a plane to India. In general I wasn’t up for any of those options after all my Visa only valid for another 2 days I had to take a bus north towards UAE to figure it out there.
